Please join us for the South Metro, Out of the Darkness Community Walk.  We are happy to have you walking with us to support suicide prevention on the 2.9 mile walk in Highlands Ranch.

The Out of the Darkness Community Walks are 3-5 miles in length and will take place in over 250 communities across the country this fall.  The proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). By walking, you will be joining with thousands of others nationwide to raise money for AFSP's vital research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives, increase national awareness about depression and suicide, and provide support for survivors of suicide loss. In deciding to participate by walking, sponsoring or donating, you are taking us a step closer to making suicide prevention a national priority.

This year, we are again hosting the South Metro, Out of the Darkness Community Walk on Saturday September 8th, 2012 at Highlands Ranch High School.  This will kick-off National Suicide Prevention Week (September 9-15). Our goals are to create more awareness, honor loved ones, raise funds for research, education, and advocacy, and reach out to people with mental disorders as well as those impacted by suicide.

The 2011 South Metro, Out of the Darkness Community Walk raised over $102,0000 and half of the net proceeds benefit our communities by:

With funds raised from this year’s walk, we can continue efforts to offer More Than Sad for any interested high school in Colorado and continue to support the current initiatives mentioned above.

Help be a lifesaver – make a difference -  walk with us and donate today!

Your South Metro Community Walk Committee is looking forward to seeing you, and we encourage you to meet and share with each other at the walk.
