*Online registration closes at noon (3pm EST) the Friday before the Walk. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the event! Please know that online donations are accepted through December 31, 2013.
As always, we will have a raffle drawing with great prizes from local businesses, Community Partners from the Los Angeles area, Chapter representatives to help fill you in on everything AFSP is doing in our communities, and much more!

Walk Route Details:
The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a 3.3 mile route, passing by a gorgeous ocean view. Proceeds will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, to fund research, education, survivor and awareness programs — both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide.
The Walk begins and ends at the 3rd Street Promenade and Wilshire Blvd. Santa Monica.
Dogs are welcome at the Walk. People and canine friendly ones only please & please clean up after your dog!
Registration is 7:45-9am. Speakers and program begin at 9am, then we will take off toward the beach!
Driving Directions / Transit / Parking:
Walkers are encouraged to park in lots P9 at Fourth Street and P10 at Third Street, one block north of Wilshire, then walk down and join us at 3rd Street Promenade and Wilshire. There are also additional public parking lots. (SEE MAP)
Parking is free for the first 90 minutes, $1 for the next hour, and $1.50 for each additional hour.

If you are a survivor of suicide loss, we encourage you to bring a non-returnable photo of your loved one to the Walk to add to the Remembrance Display.
AFSP's Remembrance Display is an opportunity for Walkers to share special photos and written memories of their loved one with others, or to simply pause for a quiet moment of reflection.
Make sure to arrive early to allow time to explore the Out of the Darkness Walk Resource Fair!
The Resource Fair will feature several local community service agencies. This is your opportunity to gather literature, hear about upcoming events, and connect with others in the community.

Please remember to pick up your Honor Beads and "Today, I’m Walking…" labels at the Walk to acknowledge your personal connection to the cause and help you to identify with others who may know just how you feel.
Our younger Walkers, and those who are young-at-heart, can enjoy free activities such as arts and crafts, face-painting, and Instagramable picture moments.
