Distance: Our Walk is 3 miles, with 1/3 mile version for those who can’t walk that far.
Register now: Every walker and every volunteer, please register online now! It’s easy and free to register on-line. Not mandatory to pre-register, but it helps us attract bigger number of walkers AND it makes it much easier for YOU to raise money. People can donate safely on-line from your walk page (automatically set up when you register on-line), and you’ll find other tools too. You can form a team and register other team members too. If you have question, just contact Joan or email email@example.com!
WANTED: 800 people taking steps together in this Walk to save lives! Mojo 92.5’s Kurt Anthony will provide music beforehand. Entire afternoon is a meaningful, colorful event for suicide prevention, with great prizes for fund-raising and the silent auction. This year we will have “Shoes left behind” at the Park.
Silent Auction 12:30 – 4 pm has Art, Jewelry, Quilts, Tupperware, Restaurant certificates, much more! Bring checkbook/money for good stuff and raising money for Suicide Prevention. Items include original art by Montana artists. Come see & keep bidding!
Fundraising prizes: (a) Each person who raises $150 or more by Walk day gets an Out of the Darkness t-shirt. (b) For every $40 you raise (or give) you receive raffle ticket for many donated prizes – of all sorts. It’s not hard to raise money for this cause. Just ask others – in person, on Facebook ( + other social media), by mail. Say why YOU walk for suicide prevention, and others will respond.
Water bottles: Please bring your own water bottle – we’ll have jugs of water & juice at Veterans park and at 1 ½ mile marker. We try to be kind to the environment so limit the number of plastic bottles of water available.
Half of the funds raised in Out of the Darkness Community Walks in Montana are available for our Montana Chapter AFSP projects here in Montana, and we all benefit from the research, education, and other work of AFSP.
