SUPPORT THE ATLANTA OUT OF THE DARKNESS COMMUNITY WALK
Join us at the Visitors Center in Piedmont Park for the 11th Annual Atlanta Out of the Darkness Community Walk taking place on Sunday, November 9th at 2:00 pm. There is noentry fee and no minimum donation but all we do in Georgia comes from fundsraised right here and we are working on/hoping for 100% fundraising by our participants this year. Those who raise $150 individually get our 2014 t-shirt.
Check-In/registration takes place from 1-2 pm. Checks made out to AFSP can be mailed to our national office ahead of time using the Offline Donation form available under Resources above (or can be brought to the walk and turned in).
The walk is just over 3 miles and the park loop is walked twice. Participants can do just one loop (1.68 miles) if preferred. A park map and parking information is available here: http://piedmontpark.org/visit/park_map.html. Take MARTA (http://www.itsmarta.com/) or park cars in the SAGE Parking Facility. Friendly leashed dogs and children in strollers welcome. The Visitors Center is #16 on the park map. Allow 15 minutes to get from parking deck or MARTA to the start of our walk.
At the Survivor Craft Area this year we’ll be making a bottle cap craft. Bring a small photo, trinket, etc to make your unique bottle cap. Photos etc should fit inside cap (no need to precut, we’ll help with that). One per person while supplies last (between 1-2 pm).
Following the walk, we’ll have a dove release. Top fundraisers will be notified via email the week before the walk about releasing a dove with instructions on where to be, etc.
New users to UBER get $30 off their first ride with promo code AFSP. Download the app, enter promo code AFSP and request your ride. Get started now at: get.uber.com/sign-up/AFSP
