June is men’s health month, and this event is on a mission to bring attention to men’s mental health! The event features former NFL quarterback for the Detroit Lions for nine seasons, Eric Hipple, who also authored the book Real Men DO Cry. Eric will share the incredible, very personal story of caring for his own mental health as well as healing from the loss of his son Jeff to suicide. In his heartfelt and engaging keynote about "living life in the offense," Eric inspires audiences with his journey to success before, during, and after life in the NFL.
• Men die by suicide at a rate that’s 3.5X higher than women
• White males account for 70% of suicides in the U.S.
• Men in general are less likely than women to seek help for mental health conditions
Let’s change this! Get as many men as you can to turn out for this special community event, brought to you by the western Pennsylvania chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Any proceeds from the event benefit that AFSP Western PA chapter.
The $10 event admission will include free raffle tickets to enter to win raffle prizes. Raffle prizes will be announced soon!
We strongly encourage you to pre-register for the event online, as space in the AGH McGovern Auditorium is limited. You will receive a reminder email a few days prior to the event, which will give you additional maps and information about where to park and how to locate the event.
