The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a 3-5 mile scenic walk taking place in more than 200 communities across the country this fall. Proceeds will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, to fund research, education, survivor and awareness programs — both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide.

Join MC Kerstin Lindquist, 10News Morning Anchor for our Annual Walk. This year’s event will start/end at the picnic area in DeAnza Cove and go through the Mission Bay area.
Site Directions
The San Diego Walk will begin and end at the Picnic Shelter in DeAnza Cove. DeAnza Cove is at the north end of Mission Bay off Mission Bay Drive.
Parking
There are two large parking lots next to the park.
Inclement Weather
We will walk rain or shine, hot or cold! Please be prepared and dress appropriately.
Pets
Sorry, pets are not allowed in the park by City of San Diego regulations.
Registration, Check-in & Day Of Donations
We encourage you to have everyone you are walking with pre-register for the community walk; however, we will have registration on site.
If you have pre-registered and have additional donations to turn in, please bring them with you that morning. You can give everything to the registration workers when you check in.
If you have pre-registered but do not have additional donations, please make sure that you still check-in so we have an accurate count of participants for the event.
Opening Ceremony
Opening Ceremony will begin promptly at 10am and the kickoff for the walk will follow immediately (approx. 10:20).
