Event Details

*Heardmont Park is in north Shelby County at 5452 Cahaba Valley Road, also known as Hwy. 119.  (Exit # 246 on Interstate-65 South)

Thank you for your interest in our Alabama Chapter.  Here are some ideas on how you can show your support:

*Form a team
*Join the AFSP/Alabama team
*Donate to our chapter

We encourage you to bring pictures of friends or loved ones lost to suicide to display in our "Survivor Tent" area.

This year, there will also be a "shoe memorial" along the walk route.  A pair of shoes will represent each life lost to suicide in a year in the state of Alabama.

Team Pictures will taken before and after the Opening Ceremony.

*Special Guest for Opening Ceremony:  Dr. Rich Powers, Medical Director for the Dept. of Mental Health

*Meet representatives from:  AFSP Chapter,  AL Dept. of Mental Health, Crisis Center/Teen Link, NAMI, Oasis Women's Counseling Center, VA Medical Center, UAB Dept. of Psychiatry

*All walkers who check-in the day of the walk will receive a Memory Bracelet.

*We will have Memory Buttons and t-shirts for sale.
