Fundraising Page for Oakland Walk

Hello everyone,
While I usually walk in the San Francisco Community Walk, I'm thrilled that this Oakland walk is now in the works and will happen in October.
This year, I'll be singing a couple of songs--my gift to those trying to understand the senseless disease of depression, and those who are struggling with it--and then will walk, hopefully with my family. Though trying to get my 4 year old up and out by 6:30 will be, well, improbable. But miracles happen! That's him, above. I'm grateful for the good help I've received that's enabled me to be here for him with all of my heart.
Please help me support this important organization. I was going to walk for a different cause this year, since I've walked for AFSP 4 years in a row (the first time, 20 miles through the night, through the wild streets of San Francisco). But my heart comes back again and again to this cause, this struggle with depression (and related disorders)--a hidden disease that is still so stigmatized and misunderstood. If only everyone could just "snap out it." I'm walking because not one more person should be told that and shamed for being depressed. And because I know we still have far to go in finding a treatment that works for everyone, most especially for young people who are most at-risk for suicide.
So, I'm walking and performing this year. Please walk with me! Either in-person, or by making a donation to help me reach my goal--a very humble one this year. I know funds are excruciatingly tight for all of us--I considered not walking simply to avoid asking for money in today's economy. But $200 we can do, right?
If only 25 people show up for the walk, well, it's a first year event in Oakland. But I hope after reading this, you'll sign up and invite everyone you know to come along!
