Dear Friend,

My dad killed himself in 1976. At that time, there was not the knowledge nor the support available to those suffering from depression like there is today. Through my life I wished so many times he had been able to get help and support for his depression. If only, if only, if only.....

I will be joining with thousands of students nationwide this spring to walk in AFSP's Purdue University North Central WalkOut of the Darkness Campus Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. My walking and your donation could save a child from losing a parent, a mother from losing her child, or one person from making a terrible choice.

I would appreciate any support that you give me for this worthwhile cause.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 33,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
