Dear Family & Friends,
On March 28, 2012, we lost my brother Sean to suicide. He was 23 years young. Sean was full of life, extremely intelligent, incredibly talented, hysterically funny, genuinely generous, and so very loving. We thought he had everything going for him. We found out too late that he struggled with depression that ultimately took its toll on him.
I don't remember my life without my brother. We were always at each other's side. We had a bond unlike any other. He was my companion, my role model, and my best friend. I love him and miss him so much.
I will be joining thousands of people nationwide to walk in AFSP's Chicagoland Community Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I would appreciate any support that you give me for this worthwhile cause. We have named our team "Tiny Robots" in honor of Sean, the "Giant Robot."
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 36,000 lives lost each year (one person every 16 minutes) in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
