Wendy Morrison

Dear Friend,

This will be the fourth year I have participated in the VA Beach Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention, since my dad's suicide in February 2008. Our walk has been the largest in the country for three years in a row. So many are affected every day by depression and suicide and this walk is such a healing experience! I am in charge of getting folks to sign the banner again this yr. It is not nearly as painful as the first time we did the walk, but seeing so many who are in the same boat as we are is tough but also comforting. Putting dad's picture on the memory wall is still so weird.. like he does not belong there; but he does :(

Any help you can give will save lives.. you never know when someone YOU love will be so consumed with chronic depression that they dont think they have any other choice but to take their life. I pray you are never in our "circle". God bless you all.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 36,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.

I hope you will consider supporting my participation in this event. Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.

Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please click the "Support This Participant" button on this page.
