Dear Friends,
On September 15, 2012 I'll be participating in the annual 5k Out of the Darkness Community Walk at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City benefitting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Since losing my beloved sister Julie to suicide in 2010, I've learned how important suicide prevention education and awareness is. My hope is that through education and awareness, those suffering with a mental illness will be prompted to receive help.
Since the Fall of 2011, I've been involved as a volunteer field advocate for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and I'm also an active member of the AFSP Utah Chapter. I know first-hand how important their work is, and the positive impact their outreach and education programs are making in Utah.
I hope you'll consider supporting my participation in this event. Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
