Dear Friends, Family, Coaches, Teachers, and Fellow Bloggers,
I will be joining with thousands of people nationwide to walk in AFSP's Dutchess County Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I would appreciate any support that you give me for this worthwhile cause.
I walk this year in honor of loved ones I, my brother, and friends have lost to suicide. This year I walk in dedication to;
Zack Phillips
Jeff Hoffelder
Sam Frost
Michael Christie
Both Sam and Jeff were two Tolland students we lost to suicide who were loved by all. Zack was one of my childhood friends who took his life in the 8th grade. Michael is my friend/roomate's brother who passed away a few years ago. Though they're gone, their spirits still live on and exist in the memories we have with them.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 36,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
I hope you will consider supporting my participation in this event. Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible. Even if it is only a few dollars, any and all donations are welcome.
