Hello friends and family,

First of all know that you are all loved and appreciated. I am very happy to be married to Keith on Saturday June 1, 2013. In lieu of wedding gifts, I would like my friends/family to donate to a cause I believe in. I chose AFSP for 18 year old Ricky Naitoh who was the beloved son of Michelle's employer John Naitoh, MD. Ricky succumbed after a long battle against depression on March 3, 2013. He was in college and a very talented poet and writer. He was a kind and giving child. Ricky will always be loved and never forgotten. Dr. Naitoh is a great father and while we cannot know the pain he, Becky and his children are going through, we can help the best we know how and that is by honoring Ricky. Please see Dr. Naitoh's words below and thank you for everything you have done for me and my future husband. Love, Michelle

"As the father of Rick Naitoh who committed suicide on March 3rd at CSULB, I appreciate the attempts that are being made to reach out in the student community to help those in need. These efforts are the best way to assure that my son's death will not be in vain: if you are depressed, seek help. If you see someone who appears alone or sad, reach out to them. Depression is a disease, not a fault of character or a sign of weakness. While some people like my son cannot be helped, you can honor his memory by making sure death by suicide never happens again." from John Naitoh.
