Thank you all very much for taking the time to visit our donation page with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. We are hosting the 4th Annual Highsmith Classic at Crofton Country Club on Monday, October 28, 2019. 

The Highsmith Classic is a celebration of life for Brian Michael Highsmith and is about raising money for a great cause.  Brian was smart, funny, kind, athletic and handsome.  He was gainfully employed with a loving family, more friends than most could imagine, and always brought joy to everyone around him.  He left us far too soon but instilled in those who had the pleasure of knowing him the importance of spending time with family and friends, making every event fun, and shooting a low score on the weekends. Brian was an avid golfer and this tournament is a perfect way to honor his legacy.  

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention was created with the mission of saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. The organization strives to achieve its mission by utilizing the following strategies:

• Fund scientific research
• Offer educational programs for professionals
• Educate the public about mood disorders and suicide prevention
• Promote policies and legislation that impact suicide and prevention
• Provide programs and resources for survivors of suicide loss and people at risk
