Active Minds is a national organization dedicated to changing the conversation about mental health. Our goal is to raise awareness and eliminate stigma surrounding mental health and mental illness. As one in four people struggle with mental illness, it is an issue that affects everyone: if you don't struggle with one, chances are you know someone who does, whether you realize this or not.
Every year we participate in Out of the Darkness, a walk to raise money and awareness for suicide, prevention/outreach programs, research and survivors. With over 36,000 people dying by suicide every year, in the U.S. alone, prevention efforts are crucial. In adult 18-65, it is the 4th leading cause of death. With suicide rates on the rise, any help that you can provide is appreciated.
