Honor Beads:

Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental illness can feel like no one understands what you are going through. Unlike other illnesses, it is difficult to look at someone and know their connection. The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance and a walk that unites a community – a time to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and our loved ones. We often use honor beads to show our personal connection to the cause and help us identify others who understand our experience

White beads for the loss of a child Gold beads for loss of a parent Red beads for the loss of a spouse or partner
Orange beads for the loss of a sibling Purple beads for the loss of a relative or friend Silver beads for the loss of a first responder or military member
Green beads for my personal struggle Teal beads because my loved one struggles Blue beads because I support suicide prevention
