Mikey graduated from Hickory High School with honors and distinction in June, 2017.  He was a popular, much loved member of the Class of 2017 and well known in the Chesapeake Community.  Everyone knew Mikey for his goofy sense of humor, infectious smile, and contagious laugh.  He was bound for James Madison University in the Fall and planned to become a physical therapist.  Mikey had a passion for physical fitness, a love for the game of baseball (and all sports actually!) and spent as much time at the beach as his busy schedule allowed.

Mikey was kind, loving and generous to everyone he knew, but most especially his little brother, Thomas.  He adored, mentored and protected "Tom" ( Mikey was the only one allowed to call him that!).  Mikey relished the role of "big brother."

Mikey did everything right:  he reached out for help, sought the support of loving parents and family and enveloped himself in a wide circle of friends. Yet, a horrible disease called depression took him unexpectedly from all of us.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in Mikey's name.  Your contribution could help prevent the tragic loss of another life and the immeasurable pain it causes for those left behind.
