We tragically lost our son Nick on December 14, 2017, a date which we will never forget. He was a young man who was loved by so many family members and friends but nonetheless decided to end his personal pain. His Mom and I along with his step-Mom, brothers and step-siblings and all of his extended family are devastated at our loss. Nick was going to change the world and do amazing things with his life and his career. There are no words to describe the sadness we are feeling for the pain which Nick endured while he was alive and the pain we are all experiencing at his passing.

The Virginia Tech Community and specifically his fraternity Sigma Chi hosted a vigil service the night of December 15th and hundreds of brothers, friends and family members were in attendance. The wonderful things which were shared  shared by attendees were inspiring and uplifting and time and time again we heard the following words to describe Nick: caring, compassionate, my best friend, my go-to guy, the life of the party, crazy, a great listener and most of all, loving. We only wish Nick had heard these words shared by his friends before he decided to take his own life, and we would have had a different outcome.

Our request to all of our readers, our family members, our friends, neighbors and everyone who knows Nick or his family to each day tell those who you love that you love them, and how much they mean to you. Take no one for granted and give them a purpose for living as they see how much they are loved by those around them. With that confidence instilled in them our actions can reduce the amount of suicides and allow everyone to fulfill their purpose in life.

Thank you to all of our family members and special friends who are there to help us get through this painful time. While we are all experiencing agonizing pain we gain comfort that Nick's pain is no longer and that he is in Heaven looking down upon us. God rest his soul.
