Out of the Darkness Community Walk
The walk is approximately a 3 mile loop along the beautiful Charles River.
Dogs are welcome!
There is Limited parking at Artesani Park. Overflow parking is located at 1120 Soldiers Field Rd and 1230 Soldiers Filed Rd. We encourage you to get there early and carpool if possible. You will not be charged a fee for Parking.

Remember, in addition to fundraising online, you will be able to turn in additional cash or check donations at the registration table the day of the Walk.
Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at the event. AND - with a $10 donation, you can pick up an AFSP Pooch bandana at the Paws for Prevention table and earn a raffle ticket for a prize.
Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental illness can feel like no one understands what you are going through. Unlike other illnesses, it is difficult to look at someone and know their connection.
The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance and a walk that unites a community – a time to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and our loved ones. We all wear honor beads - each color shows our personal connection to the cause, and helps us identify others who understand our experience
Make sure to arrive early to allow time to explore the resources area.
Information tables hosted by local businesses and non-profit organizations will open at 8am. This will be an opportunity to gather literature, hear about upcoming events, and connect with others who are dedicated to raising awareness of mental illness and suicide, strengthening prevention efforts, and providing support to those impacted by suicide loss.
The walk is a family friendly event and we encourage you to bring your children. We will have crafts, tattoos and other kid friendly fun taking place!
We will have AFSP Tee shirts, sweat pants, hoodies, water bottles, wristbands and lots of other awareness materials for sale during the walk. Be sure to plan ahead and bring cash to purchase items.
