Main Park Drive: The main park drive is a 1.8-mile paved loop that winds around the ravine and along the spring-fed stream. The drive has several overlooks that offer views down into the ravine system. Visitors can relax on a bench in the shade to admire the beautiful flowers and soak up the serenity. The drive is considered Easy, although there is a steep hill that hikers face towards the end of the loop that can be considered slightly challenging.  Feel free to walk as many times around as you would like.

All areas are paved so are wheelchair and stroller friendly.  Pets are allowed in Ravine Gardens State Park and on the multi-use trail system. They must be kept on a six-foot, hand held leash and well behaved at all times. Pets may not be left unattended at any time. Please pick up after your pet. Honor Beads:

Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental illness can feel like no one understands what you are going through. Unlike other illnesses, it is difficult to look at someone and know their connection.

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance and a walk that unites a community – a time to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and our loved ones. We all wear honor beads - each color shows our personal connection to the cause, and helps us identify others who understand our experience

Online registration closes at noon (local time) the Friday before the walk. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.

When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

As the leader in the fight against suicide, and thanks to walkers like you from cities across the country, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.

Click the Register Now button at the top of the page to get started right away.

Thank you for your support! We look forward to seeing you at the Walk!
