HOPE Continues

We are amid an unprecedented public health crisis, yet we also have an extraordinary opportunity to continue to come together within our families and our communities to reduce the stigma that often surrounds mental health. If you would like any AFSP resources for your area, they are FREE thanks to the funds raised by YOU, our amazing walkers and our sponsors. Please email [email protected] and we will send them to you.

While we may not know what September 12 will exactly look like, your Oakland/Rochester/Macomb Walk Committee continues to plan, with your safety being top priority. Please don't forget to register for the walk! Also please check in regularly to the AFSP Michigan Chapter FB page as we've been delivering our free programs virtually. Register for a program and a zoom link will be sent to you. If you have any questions regarding programming, please email [email protected]. No matter our circumstances, we will continue our mission to saves lives and bring HOPE to those affected by suicide.

Honor Beads

Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental illness can feel like no one understands what you are going through. Unlike other illnesses, it is difficult to look at someone and know their connection. There is an honor bead for everyone, whether you have lost a loved one, struggle personally, support a friend and/or family member, or all of the above. Learn more by watching our honor bead video.

The Out of the Darkness Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.
