We will be Live Streaming and have a wonderful interactive program planned, with representatives from all our Campus Walks participating.

Dr. Christine Moutier was a guest on CNN twice this month, with Anderson Cooper and Sanjay Gupta, discussing the mental health impacts of the coronavirus. Dr. Moutier was also quoted in an Associated Press article that was picked up by The New York Times, and in a separate piece published by MarketWatch.
Finally, Dr. Doreen Marshall wrote two separate blog posts, both of which offer fantastic advice for managing and maintaining your mental well-being during this time: Taking Care of Your Mental Health in the Face of Uncertainty and Supporting your Mental Health While Navigating Change.

Remember, in addition to fundraising online, you will be able to turn in additional cash or check donations at the registration table the day of the Walk.
Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental health condition can sometimes feel as if no one understands what you are going through. Wearing honor beads the day of the walk is a way to show each other that we are all connected to the cause, and that no one is alone.
There is an honor bead for everyone, whether you have lost a loved one, struggle personally, support a friend and/or family member, or all of the above.
The Out of the Darkness Campus Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, support, and a walk that unites a campus and community – a time to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and our loved ones.
Online registration closes at noon the Friday before the walk. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Walk donations are accepted until June 30th.
When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.
As the leader in the fight against suicide, and thanks to walkers like you from cities across the country, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.
