The safety and well-being of our participants, volunteers, and staff is our top priority so we have decided to hold our event program virtually and will have many activities to help you raise awareness and funds to support the work of AFSP Arkansas leading up to event day. We also encourage you to find a location whether it is your neighborhood or local park where you can walk safely.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, as well as your dedication to preventing suicide. We look forward to joining together in-person in 2022!

Remember, in addition to fundraising online, you will be able to turn in additional cash or check donations at the registration table the day of the Walk (if happening in person).
— Donations can be made to a team, BUT the T-shirt and other incentives are based only on INDIVIDUAL fundraising. Any donations made to the team as a whole will not go to any of the team members' individual fundraising totals.
So please fundraise as an individual by sending friends and family to your personal page, and ask for a team "sponsorship" from local businesses, clubs, etc. and use it as a way to ask for donations during a team fundraising event!
Activities of Hope & Healing
Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental health condition can sometimes feel as if no one understands what you are going through. Wearing honor beads the day of the walk is a way to show each other that we are all connected to the cause, and that no one is alone.
There is an honor bead for everyone, whether you have lost a loved one, struggle personally, support a friend and/or family member, or all of the above.
The Out of the Darkness Campus Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, support, and a walk that unites a campus and community – a time to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and our loved ones.
Online registration closes at noon the Friday before the walk. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Walk donations are accepted until June 30th.
When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.
As the leader in the fight against suicide, and thanks to walkers like you from cities across the country, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.
