Team Captain Team Loving Andre & Forever Kim Greater Philadelphia Walk

Join Me in Supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

My family and I have been participating in the Philadelphia Out Of The Darkness walk for the past 6 years, in honor of my youngest son, Andre.  My son was 13 years old when he completed on March 14, 2013.  That pain has never gone away!  We have just managed to learn how to live with it, taking baby steps each and every day!!  I have continued to raise funds in his honor, in hopes of not only keeping his memory alive but also to raise awarenes and end the stigma that surrounds suicide.

This year our walk has even more significance.  My beautiful niece, Kimberly Skye, completed on August 24th of this year!  My family has once again been destroyed!  She was full of life, caring and such a sweet soul!  She loved deeply and is loved just as deeply!

Kimbo (as I affectionally called her) was very well educated on suicide and its effects on family members.  She was my partner in getting my walk together every year!  She would help me design the t-shirt for our Team LovingAndre.   She would also recruite, advertise and educate others on this topic!  She wasn't afraid of speaking her truth about suicide and yet it wasn't enough to save her!!

MY HEART HURTS SO MUCH!  My heart feels like I failed her but my mind knows better!  Now, I must continue to walk in honor of my son, Dre and my niece, Kimbo!

So it is with a very heavy heart, that I ask you to please donate as much as you can, spread the word as much as possible and join us (if possible) in our walk to honor both Andre and Kimberly!!  We are now team Loving Andre & Forever Kim!!

My family and I will be participating in the Philadelphia Walk in honor of my son, Andre on October 6th at the Philadelphia Art Museum.  We will walk in honor of Kimberly in the October 20th walk in New York at the Pier 16 South Street Seaport.
