Join Me in Supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
No one should ever have to live with the pain that suicide brings or the pain that causes people to leave us by suicide.
Couldn’t help Jeff but maybe we can help someone else.
I'm walking in the Out of the Darkness Fairfax Walk to fight suicide and support AFSP's bold goal to reduce the suicide rate 20% by 2025.
Did you know that Suicide is the 10 th leading cause of death in the US?
I’m forming a team, “Friends of Jeff”, and will be walking in the Out of the Darkness Fairfax Walk in honor of Jeff, my sons’ best friend and a wonderful young man that my husband and I considered to be our third son. Jeff lived with us every summer after his mother died and then moved in with us after he graduated from high school. He took his life with a gun he received as a gift for his 21st birthday. He was born on Christmas day 1985 and chose to end his life on Easter Sunday 2007. He was but 21. To this day I have no idea what my family or I could have done to prevent this tragedy as we never saw it coming. Jeff was a fun loving gregarious young man, always cracking jokes and making people laugh. His passing devastated my family.
We couldn’t help Jeff but maybe we can help someone else by raising funds and awareness No one should ever have to live with the pain that suicide brings to family and friends or the pain that causes people to leave us by suicide.
The walk is being held on Saturday, October 3rd at the Veteran’s Amphitheater, 10489 Armstrong Street, right in front of City Hall, in Fairfax, VA. Please join our team. If you can’t join us, then consider making a donation. It’s easy. Just click on the button on my page. All donations are 100% tax deductible and benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Any amount would be appreciated. I’d rather raise my goal of $15,000 one dollar at a time as that means I’ve touched 15,000 people and made them aware of suicide prevention. If you can’t make a donation, then I ask that you pray for us and all the families that have experienced suicide as well as the victims of suicide. Thank you and God bless.
