Frank Ripley “Rip” Clanton, 67, of Baytown, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021, in Alabama.

Rip was born December 9, 1953 in Baytown, to parents, James William “Bill” and Frances Page Clanton, and was a lifelong resident of Baytown.  He was a graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School, attended Lee College, and was a retired Project Manager in chemical cleaning services.  Rip was a very active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was a Master Mason at Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge #321 AF & AM. He also enjoyed antique cars, playing golf, watching sports, especially LSU and the Houston Astros, and serving at the St. Paul’s Food Pantry.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. 

Rip was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Frances; his brother, Tom Clanton; and  his father-in-law and mother-in-law,  Louis and JoAnn Hoffeld.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Susan Clanton; daughters, Carrie Lynn Parker and Kristen Stephens and husband Mike; son, Shawn Britton Landry and wife Kate; sister, Susie Hunter and husband Bobby; brother, James William Clanton, Jr. and partner Ann; sister-in-law, Marlene Clanton; grandchildren, Corbin and Ty Haro, Laney Cherry, Novalina, Keyshawn and Emilia Landry, Peyton and Gavin Parker, Cori and Allie Stephens; many children and grandchildren-in-love.  He also leaves behind a large and much loved extended family and many friends that he considered family.
