Davis Hudson Cook was born January 10, 1996 to Michael and Martha Cook of New Bern, N.C. He died on February 4, 2018.  Davis graduated from New Bern High School in 2014 where he was a proud member of the New Bern Bears baseball team for four years, and then attended The University of Mississippi. His best days were spent with his lifelong friends from New Bern and his college buddies at Ole Miss. He is survived by his parents Mike and Martha, his loving brother and forever best friend, Will Cook, his Granddaddy and Granny, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest M. Hudson III and his PawPaw and Nannie, Mr. and Mrs. Larry T. Cook.  Other survivors include his aunts and uncles, Susan Shiptenko, John Shiptenko, Catherine Clark (Lloyd), Jane Caldwell (Will), Kim Mounts, George Cook (Amy), Steve Congrove (Rhonda) and his cousins Gabriella, Alexandra, Cierra, Morgan, Trevor, Jake, Ben, Braxton, Chrismon, Hudson, Annie, and Cecelia. Davis was a loving son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend to many. The love for his friends could only possibly be matched by his love for pasta.  D’s friend put it best when he said, “If everyone’s heart was as big as Davis’, I’d like to see how kind the world would be.”  He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to American Foundation For Suicide Prevention at afsp.donordrive.com.  A celebration of his life will be held at the outdoor chapel at Christ Episcopal Church in New Bern, at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 9.  The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service at the Isaac Taylor Gardens at 228 Craven Street from 2:30-4:00 pm.
