We are walking in loving memory of our dear friend Lukas Pender. During his way too short time on earth, Lukas was a shining light to many. Since suicide took him from us on November 8, 2012 the world has been a little less bright. Lukas was an artist, a poet, a musician and a champion for social justice. We could imagine what he could be contributing right now—and in the future – to the world . . . there is more to Lukas than we can say in words.
Lukas is remembered and loved and missed. His family, his friends, his schoolmates gather in his memory and in love to become Team Lukas.
We will be walking in the Out of the Darkness Walk to shine a light on suicide – an issue that does not receive the attention it deserves. We also walk to support those who struggle personally and to support those left behind by suicide.
Please join us, support us, and help us share Lukas’ story. Thank you.
We are joining the community of nearly 250k people walking in hundreds of cities across the country in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.
Please help us reach our fundraising goal by donating to a team member. To donate online, please select "Roster" and then choose one of the team members listed.
