Team Emma was formed by friends of Emma von Euler just months after Emma ended her life in June 2009 at the age of 17. Her wise friends realized that the best way to honor Emma’s life was to take action that would prevent others from experiencing the tragedy of suicide.
Since 2009, family and friends have followed their lead, gathering annually for the Westport Out of the Darkness Walk benefitting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). AFSP is the largest funder of suicide research and a leader in training and education for suicide prevention and advocacy for public policy that advances mental health and suicide prevention. We are proud to support this work and know that it will save lives.
Please help us reach our fundraising goal by donating to a team member. To donate online, please select "Roster" and then choose one of the team members listed. Once you're on their page, click "Donate Now." Donations can only be made to individuals, but the total each participant raises goes toward our team goal.
All donations are 100% tax deductible and will help bring AFSP one step closer to achieving their bold goal to reduce the suicide rate 20% by 2025.
