TCSPP - Chicago

Chicagoland Experience

We invite you to join Team TCSPP for the Chicago Out of the Darkness Virtual Walk on Saturday, October 17. Traditionally, participants gather in person for a 5k (3-mile) walk in the fight against suicide. While the event is going to look different this year, the mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide has not changed.

This year, we encourage you to get out in the community and safely walk on Saturday, October 17. You choose your route and distance! Post your photos on social media and use the hashtags #TogetherToFightSuicide and #TCSPPOutoftheDarkness.

Additionally, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be hosting meaningful online activities on Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18. Details to come!

No registration fee is required, however, you will receive an official Out of the Darkness Walk T-shirt with a minimum of $150 in donations collected (raise $150 by October 9 to receive the shirt before October 17.)

For questions about participation, please contact Alyse Faour, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, at

The Out of the Darkness Walks bring together hundreds of thousands of people annually, through 400 events in 50 states: dedicated people who are raising funds and awareness to save lives, while creating a culture that is smart about mental health. The donations we collect will help The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to…

  • Fund scientific research
  • Offer educational programs for professionals
  • Educate the public about mood disorders and suicide prevention
  • Promote policies and legislation that impact suicide and prevention
  • Provide programs and resources for survivors of suicide loss and people at risk, and involve them in the work of the Foundation
