WALK ROUTE

The Walk Route is approximately 2 miles long and is perfectly flat. The walk takes place down beautiful Main Street in Daphne, turns around at our historic Daphne Elementary School and continues back to Daphne City Hall. Since it is a memorial stroll and not a race, it takes about 45 minutes. Please know if you have health issues, you may walk as little or as long as you want, or not at all. We would just love to have you at our event!!!!

personal reason for attending the Out of the Darkness Walk. After the walk, we will all pause and reflect as we have our beautiful Butterfly Release that represents the HOPE we all feel for the future.

Honor Beads:

Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental illness can feel like no one understands what
you are going through. Unlike other illnesses, it is difficult to look at someone and know their
connection.

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance and a walk that unites a
community – a time to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our
lives and our loved ones. We all wear honor beads - each color shows our personal connection to
the cause, and helps us identify others who understand our experience.

WHITE - LOST A CHILD
RED - LOST A SPOUSE OR PARTNER
GOLD - LOST A PARENT
ORANGE - LOST A SIBLING
PURPLE - LOST A RELATIVE OR FRIEND
SILVER - LOST FIRST RESPONDER / MILITARY
GREEN - STRUGGLED PERSONALLY
BLUE - SUPPORT THE CAUSE
TEAL - FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF SOMEONE WHO STRUGGLES
