Support Loving Lenny as we walk to fight suicide in the Out of the Darkness North Shore Walk .
Welcome to the Loving Lenny fundraising page!
On November 3, 2010 our lives changed forever. A tragic loss had come upon us and it was unbearable. It was mind-boggling and it hurt in the deepest parts of our souls. We lost our friend, son, brother, uncle and our absolutely amazing comrade with a sense of humor like no other. We were left here wondering what happened. We were lost. A part of us died with Lenny Sullo that day. It wasn't until 6 months later that I learned of The Walk to Prevent Suicide in Wakefield. THIS was what I was looking for!! I could not let Lenny die in vain!! I needed to help!!! That is when a group of strangers who all had one thing in common, came together. We wanted to make a difference for our boy Lenny, for all the people in the world that suffer from depression. Some of us had already lost our loved ones and some of us have never felt such pain in our lives, and some of us have lost a few more loved ones after our first walk. We wanted to be proactive, WE NEEDED TO BE! In the summer of 2011 our team was formed. There is no surprise who it was named after. Although, Lenny was the catalyst that got us to start the walk, we walk for everyone and anyone that has either died by suicide or suffers from the mental anguish of depression or mental illness. We, as a team, know all too well what untreated depression can lead to. We are desperately trying to help. Everyone deserves a chance. EVERYONE. We thank you so so so much for your help, generosity and interest in our fundraiser. Join or team, DONATE, do anything you can to help us. This is so much more than a walk. This is a chance at saving a life.
We will be joining with thousands of people nationwide to walk in the North Shore Walk, benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), and we would appreciate any support that you give for this worthwhile cause.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 39,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please select "Roster" and then choose one of the team members listed and then click the "Donate Now" button on their page. Donations can only be made to individuals, but the total each participant raises goes toward our team goal.
