Support team Harmony as we walked to fight suicide in the Out of the Darkness Northern Rhode Island Walk .
On Sept 29th, we join the community of nearly 250k people walking in hundreds of cities across the country in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. Suicide has taken the lives of people of all ages, races and socioeconomic classes.
AFSP raises awareness, funds scientific research and provides resources and aid to those affected by suicide. Learn more about AFSP’s mission and history or select one of the items below to discover how we accomplish our work. They fund research to improve interventions, train clinicians in suicide prevention, and advocate for policy that will save lives.
Too many people at risk for suicide do not seek help. We need to find better ways to reach those who suffer, and encourage schools, workplaces, and communities to make mental health a priority.
Whether you’ve lost someone or are struggling with suicidal thinking—you are not alone. We bring people who have been affected by suicide out of the darkness, and give them opportunities to help others.
Please help us reach our fundraising goal by donating to a team member. To donate online, please select "Roster" and then choose one of the team members listed. Once you're on their page, click "Donate Now." Donations can only be made to individuals, but the total each participant raises goes toward our team goal. Whether it is $5, $10, $15, $20, $50 or $100 - every donation helps!
All donations are 100% tax deductible and will help bring AFSP one step closer to achieving their bold goal to reduce the suicide rate 20% by 2025.
Thank you for your support!
