On Saturday, October 20th, Delbarton will host the “Raising Hope” walk. The goal of the walk is to remove the stigma attached to mental illness, to bring attention to the facts about suicide, to remember those who have been lost, and to show support for families and friends. The walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a brief ceremony and prayer and will conclude with a BBQ. Light snacks and refreshments will also be available before the walk. The walk route will begin at Lower Abbey Field, run through beautiful Jockey Hollow, and end back at Lower Abbey Field. All proceeds raised will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, an organization which seeks to find better ways to prevent suicide, to create a culture that’s smart about mental health, and to bring hope to those affected by suicide.
