Help Us Save Lives and Bring Hope
The Out of the Darkness Campus Walks are the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) signature student fundraising series, designed to engage youth and young adults in the fight to prevent suicide, the second leading cause of death among people ages 15-24.
Our top priority is the safety and health of our Walkers, Volunteers, and Staff. All events will be adhering to all school, city, and state guidelines, and will follow the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), City Departments of Public Health, and the World Health Organization.
We know that this can be a difficult time, so please take a moment to view AFSP's Mental Health and COVID page for helpful resources and information.
Many of the Campus Walks will be Virtual Walks, so please search for an event and join us virtually! Now, more than ever, we need to make suicide prevention and mental health awareness a national priority. Walking and raising funds is one way to make that happen. Thank you!
Out of the Darkness Campus Walks
Every year suicide claims more lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined, and yet suicide prevention doesn't get anywhere near the funding given to other leading causes of death. It's up to Walkers like us to make a difference. Together we can change the conversation about mental health and put a stop to this tragic loss of life.
