Help Us Save Lives and Bring Hope
The Out of the Darkness Campus Walks are the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) signature student fundraising series, designed to engage youth and young adults in the fight to prevent suicide, the second leading cause of death among people ages 15-24.
Our top priority is the safety and health of our Walkers, Volunteers, and Staff. Because of this, we are carefully monitoring the developments related to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will continue to do so. We are working with the school, city and state officials, and we will follow the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), City Departments of Public Health, and the World Health Organization. We know that this can be a difficult time, so please take some time to read AFSP's Taking Care of Your Mental Health in the Face of Uncertainty and ADAA's Coronavirus Anxiety - Helpful Expert Tips and Resources.
Many of the Campus Walks have become Virtual Walks, so please search for the walk in your area and join us virtually!
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Out of the Darkness Campus Walks
Every year suicide claims more lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined, and yet suicide prevention doesn't get anywhere near the funding given to other leading causes of death. It's up to Walkers like us to make a difference. Together we can change the conversation about mental health and put a stop to this tragic loss of life.
