God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform;

He plants His footsteps in the sea, and rides upon the storm.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, but trust Him for His grace;

Behind a frowning providence, He hides a smiling face.

Blind unbelief is sure to err, and scan his wonder in vain;

God is his own interpreter, and He will make it plain.

  • William Cowper

My beautiful baby sister, Heather Crespo, was an amazing person.  She laughed, she smiled, she experienced life.  She established traditions within our family.  She was my own beacon of hope, my light.  My sister cared for everyone she met.  She loved deeply.  She cared for our family, her friends, the individuals she worked with, and strangers she’d just met.  She took on each one of their burdens as her own.  She thought at the time that their happiness was the most important things.  For her, it was the most important thing.

My sister, my beautiful, baby sister, took her own life on October 26th.  The weight of this burden proved to be too much for her.  There were no warning signs.  She wouldn’t tell anyone how badly she was hurting, how badly she needed help.  She wouldn’t share that burden with anyone.  My baby sister, trying to take the world on her shoulders.

There are so many questions that are left unanswered.  Questions that I’ll never have answered.

My beautiful, baby sister didn’t know where to go for help.  My family, including Heather, would never want that for anyone.  She would never want anyone else to go through that alone  I only wish she had felt she could reach out to talk to someone.  Anyone.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that instead that you make a contribution to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.  No one should go through this type of pain alone.  If you need help, please know you are not alone.  Please know that people love you.  You’ve made an impact in someones life.  You have potential.  We love you.  If you are in crisis, and feel you can’t speak to those closest to you, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at  1-800-273-TALK (8255).
