The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a 3-5 mile scenic walk taking place in more than 300 communities across the country this fall. Proceeds will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, to fund research, education, survivor and awareness programs — both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide.

The Walk begins and ends at Chico City Plaza and we will have details and route specifics posted soon.

Dogs are welcome at the Walk. People and canine friendly ones only please & please clean up after your dog!

Volunteer with Us on Walk Day:

Volunteer with us on Walk Day and help us make the Chico Out of the Darkness Community Walk a success. Our walk is planned and managed by Volunteers just like you, and we would love to have your help on the day of the walk.

We'll have volunteers helping with everything from Event Set Up & Breakdown to Food and Beverage Stations, the Honor Bead Tent, Route Support, Prize Giveaways, and much more!

Email us if you are interested in helping with the walk or if you have any questions about Volunteering with us.

Sponsorship Opportunities:

Our generous local sponsors help make our Chico Out of the Darkness Walk possible. Sponsoring a walk is a great way for local businesses to support their communities and to be more visible.

If you know a business owner or local company that might want to sponsor the Chico Walk, email us, or send them the sponsor packet.
