Welcome to the TEAM BQ fundraising page!

This December marks the 10th year since I lost my husband & my children lost their father to suicide. We are forever changed by this tragic event, but my children have taken their loss and pain and used it to better themselves as well as others. My son received his bachelors in Psychology and hopes to continue his education and work in the mental health field. My daughter is in med school and currently volunteers as a Field Advocate for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). My hope is that through education and awareness, those suffering from mental illness will be prompted to seek help. Last year we started Team BQ and participated in our 1st Out of the Darkness Community Walk in Phoenix and our team raised $1600. This year I will not only walk in memory of my husband Brian but also for Debbie; one of my oldest and dearest friends who lost her life to suicide in April of this year.

I appreciate all of you who contributed to this wonderful cause last year. Please consider giving again or please join our team and walk with us on Saturday, December 7th! When you walk in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Walks, you join efforts with thousands of people nationwide to raise money for AFSP’s vital research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives. The walks raise awareness about depression and suicide, and provide comfort and assistance to those who have lost someone to suicide.
