Let's Be The Voice for Suicide Prevention in Easton!


Thank you for your interest in the 2017 Easton Out of the Darkness Walk! Read below for more information about the walk and to get answers about frequently asked questions.


Due to the walk taking place at Borderland State Park, you will need to pay $5 to park in the lot on the morning of the walk. Please plan ahead and carpool if possible.

Why Fundraising?

Although there is no fee to walk and no fundraising requirement, every dollar raised helps the AFSP Eastern MA Chapter bring much-needed suicide prevention and support programs to our local communities. There are 3 small things you can do to kick-start your fundraising work:

How is the money used? 83 cents of every dollar raised goes directly into programming. Walk fundraising allows our chapter to increase activities aimed at preventing suicide within your community.

This website is designed for online donations. On the day of the walk, you may also bring cash or checks (made out to “American Foundation for Suicide Prevention”). And don’t miss our Walker Central website for some great tips and some great social media apps to help you promote your walk participation.

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance and a walk that unites a community – a time to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and our loved ones. We all wear honor beads - each color shows our personal connection to the cause, and helps us identify others who understand our experience

We will have AFSP Tee shirts, sweat pants, hoodies, water bottles, wristbands and lots of other awareness materials for sale during the walk.  Be sure to plan ahead and bring cash to purchase items.


Raise $150 by 09/16/2017 and receive an official Out of the Darkness Walk T-shirt!

Remember, in addition to fundraising online, you will be able to turn in additional cash or check donations at the registration table the day of the Walk. 



Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome at the event. AND - with a $25 donation, you can pick up an AFSP Pooch bandana at the Paws for Prevention table.
