ACTIVITIES OF HOPE AND HEALING

Honor Beads:

Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental illness can feel like no one understands what you are going through. Unlike other illnesses, it is difficult to look at someone and know their connection.

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance and a walk that unites a community – a time to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and our loved ones. We all wear honor beads - each color shows our personal connection to the cause, and helps us identify others who understand our experience

WHITE - LOST A CHILD

RED -  LOST A SPOUSE OR PARTNER

GOLD - LOST A PARENT

ORANGE - LOST A SIBLING

PURPLE - LOST A RELATIVE OR FRIEND

SILVER -  LOST FIRST RESPONDER / MILITARY

GREEN - STRUGGLED PERSONALLY

BLUE - SUPPORT THE CAUSE

TEAL - FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF SOMEONE WHO STRUGGLES

Dedication Signs

Dedicate a sign in memory of a loved one lost to suicide. These signs will be placed along the walk route as a memorial to those we have lost and as a reminder of why we fight to bring the issue of suicide out of the darkness and help those who may still be struggling. For a $50 donation, a sign will be created in memory of your loved one and personalized with a message or quote. After the Walk is finished, you are welcome to take your sign home. If you are interested, remit this order form and payment by October 5th. Click here to submit your order.
