Once you are REGISTERed as part of a team, encourage your friends and colleagues to JOIN too. You can edit your personal fundraising page and share on on social media, send emails and even reach out by phone to let everyone you know you are involved in supporting the cause and ask them to DONATE to Help Save Lives!

Promote the event through your social media outlets! Use #HopeWalksHere and #OutoftheDarkness

Free Tee!!

Raise $100 and receive an official Out of the Darkness Campus Walk T-shirt!

Team Donations — Donations can be made to a team, BUT the T-shirt and other incentives are based only on INDIVIDUAL fundraising. Any donations made to the team as a whole will not go to any of the team members' individual fundraising totals.

So please fundraise as an individual by sending friends and family to your personal page, and ask for a team "sponsorship" from local businesses, clubs, etc. and use it as a way to ask for donations during a team fundraising event!

Offline donations are also possible and the Offline Donation form can be downloaded here, if you have a donor that prefers to donate with a check (made out to: AFSP  with memo line note: CO Campus)

Activities of Hope & Healing

Honor Beads

Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental health condition can sometimes feel as if no one understands what you are going through. Wearing honor beads is a way to show each other that we are all connected to the cause, and that no one is alone.

There is an honor bead for everyone, whether you have lost a loved one, struggle personally, support a friend and/or family member, or all of the above.

The Out of the Darkness Campus Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, support, and a walk that unites a campus and community – a time to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and our loved ones.

Online registration will remain open through May 24th! Donations will continue to be accepted until June 30th.

When you participate in the Out of the Darkness events, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

As the leader in the fight against suicide, and thanks to supporters like you from cities across the country, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.
