Support Johns Hopkins University as we walk to fight suicide in the Out of the Darkness Maryland Chapter Virtual Campus Walk.
For eight years JHU has supported the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide by hosting an annual Out of the Darkness Campus Walk. This year, due to continued public safety restrictions on in-person events, the AFSP MD Chapter is holding ONE Maryland Out of the Darkness Campus Walk -a virtual, combined event with Universities, Colleges, and schools across Maryland.
Please support us by registering to walk with our team - just click the "join our team" button above.
You can help us reach our fundraising goal by donating to the Johns Hopkins Team or a team member. To donate to the Johns Hopkins Team, select the blue "Donate" button at the top of this team page. To donate to a team member, please select "Roster" and then choose one of the team members listed. Once you're on their page, click "Donate Now."
All donations are 100% tax deductible and will help bring AFSP one step closer to achieving their bold goal to reduce the suicide rate 20% by 2025.
This event is open to the greater JHU Community, meaning students, alumni, staff and faculty from both the University and Hospital are welcome, as well as friends and partners in the surrounding Baltimore and DC communities.
Together we can make a difference!
We know that suicide is an issue that impacts many of us, through our experiences with friends, loved ones, colleagues, or our own struggles. If you, or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, there is help:
