We reached our $6,540 fundraising goal before summitting Springer Mountain- the first of many mountains on the Appalachian Trail. We are so grateful for the overwhelming support! With 1,000 miles left to hike, we have decided to raise our fundraising goal $1,000! Please consider helping us reach our amended goal of $7,540!
$20 = on average, we hike 20 miles per day
$115 = 115 miles left in Pennsylvania
$72 = 72 miles in New Jersey
$88 = 88 miles in New York
$51 = 51 miles in Connecticut
$90 = 90 miles in Massachusetts
$150 = 150 miles in Vermont
$161 = 161 miles in New Hampshire
$276 = 276 miles in Maine
$5.20 = 5.2 miles up Mount Katahdin - the final peak on the Appalachian Trail!
We are excited to announce our participation with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) during our 2016 Thru-Hike of the Appalachian Trail. On April 7, 2016 we will embark from Georgia on a 2,180 mile hike to Maine in honor of loved ones who battled and are battling depression. For each mile we hike, we aim to raise $3 for AFSP. We hope to spread awareness about depression while helping fund essential research and improving resources for those affected by depression and suicide.
Ways to Help:
Please consider donating on our behalf to the AFSP to help us reach our fundraising goal of $6,540. AFSP allocates funds to research, advocacy, survivor support, and awareness programs- both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected. Any size donation is much appreciated and will surely make a difference, perhaps even save a life.
The "I support you" donation = $3
1 cent per mile = $21.80
2 cents per mile = $43.60
3 cents per mile = $65.40
5 cents per mile = $109.00
10 cents per mile = $218.00
25 cents per mile = $545.00
2. Moral Support
Our 2,180 mile adventure will challenge every aspect of our physical and mental being, making moral support a crucial element in our recipe for success. We need all the words of encouragement and positivity we can get, so please spread the word about our hike by clicking the SHARE button (right side of the page) to Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin.
3. Hike with us
We understand if hiking 2,180 miles isn’t your cup of tea; however, we would love for family and friends to join us whenever and wherever on the trail-whether it be for a day hike, a week long Thru-Hike, or longer!
