Jared was a special person, a mature soul who enjoyed many things young guys didn’t and could talk and befriend anyone, old or young.  He was always a great listener, with a genuine fascination and caring interest in anything you wanted to share. His enthusiasm for things great (Buicks) and small (tic-tacs) was infectious. Jared never seemed to take anything for granted and appreciated life’s daily treasures — it didn’t need to be fancy or exciting — doing something with Jared made it worthwhile.

It’s very sad to think that inside Jared, there was another side that didn’t beam in the same way we all knew. Maybe his need for perfection led him to seek it out in everything he did, but not to accept himself for who he was — human, fragile, and somehow suffering. We all would have continued to love and respect him as imperfect…. and perhaps we can all learn that that is ok.

Jared was generous, thoughtful, dedicated, funny, insightful, honest, mischievous, fun, caring, and kind. He made the world a better place and we have suffered a tremendous loss. We will miss you Jared. We couldn’t have asked for a better friend.
