My husband, Angel Medina succumbed to mental illness on May 26, 2018. Angel was an incredibly bright man who loved his family, friends, and career. He believed in God and was generous in so many ways. I share his struggles so openly because I want to help others who might be dealing with a loved one who is contemplating suicide. The world in which they live can become dark and hopeless very quickly. All is not lost though. While Angel is no longer with us in the flesh, we can honor his memory by learning more about what to do when we spot a family member or friend that isn’t doing so well.
